The Story
The ‘Angel Cake’ series of original mixed media wall sculptures from contemporary artist Lhouette are created using aerosol and acrylic on wood and are coated in UV protective high gloss resin. ‘Angel Cake – Marbled’ measures 25 x 33” and features a predominantly multicoloured palette which combines stripes with a vibrant whirling marbled pattern. This particular angel is clutching something in each hand – but is she a gun toting bad girl, or a well-groomed angel with a pair of hairdryers at the ready? We’ll never know. Emblematic of Lhouette Studios, the Angel Cake has been a recurring motif over the last 10 years and has been reworked in hundreds of different formats, colour schemes and patterns, resulting in each individual piece achieving the enviable status of collector’s item.
