The Story
Roman Feral’s original sculpture Hermes Bronze is a mesmerising fusion of luxury and nature, measuring 14" x 19". Crafted entirely in bronze with a gleaming golden finish, this statement piece reimagines the iconic Hermès Birkin handbag as both an emblem of opulence and a vessel of life. Rising from within the bag, a cascade of delicately sculpted butterflies emerges, their wings frozen mid-flight, evoking movement and transformation. Each intricately detailed butterfly reflects light against the textured, crocodile-patterned surface of the handbag, creating a stunning interplay of form and shadow.
Feral’s use of bronze elevates the sculpture into the realm of timeless art, turning a fashion symbol into an eternal object of desire. The butterflies, poised as if about to take flight, symbolise freedom, beauty, and the transitory nature of life — themes that resonate deeply with the artist’s creative philosophy.
Roman Feral gained international acclaim following his debut collection at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2018. Since then, his work has featured in leading galleries and prestigious venues worldwide. Collectors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, the Kardashians, and Chanel — who honoured him as the first living artist since Salvador Dalí to enter their Heritage collection — have cemented his status as a visionary artist redefining contemporary luxury sculpture.
