Immensity

Jack Davis’s Immensity (59" x 59") is a vast and contemplative seascape that perfectly encapsulates the artist’s connection with the Cornish coastline. This expansive canvas is a masterclass in restraint and atmosphere, rendered in an ethereal palette of pearlescent whites, steely blues and gentle greys. A subtle interplay of light dances across the sea's surface, creating a mirrored glow that blurs the line between sky and water. Rather than working from photographs, Davis immerses himself directly in the landscape around his home in St. Just, allowing his subconscious to guide the brush. Since 2016, Davis has taught at the Newlyn School of Art, contributing to Cornwall’s rich artistic tradition.
