The Story

Size:44 x 44 in.

Maxim’s Messenger (39 x 39 inches) is a bold and ironic expression of vulnerability wrapped in defiance. A cherub-like figure floats at the centre, wings outstretched and clutching a placard that reads “LVE MRE”—a fractured yet unmistakable cry for connection. The copper-toned background, peppered with dripping paint and vivid red hearts, adds texture and emotional heat to the composition. The red motifs, both joyful and relentless, suggest love not as a delicate offering but a powerful, even political force.

This cherubic figure, traditionally a symbol of innocence, is recontextualised here with an edgy, almost confrontational aesthetic. The imperfect lettering invites multiple readings: is it a demand, a plea, or a glitch in a world oversaturated with messages? The ambiguity is entirely intentional.

Maxim—one third of the iconic British band The Prodigy—brings his signature fusion of beauty and raw emotion to every canvas. His art often lives in the space between protest and poetry, unflinching in its honesty. Influenced by surrealism and the contradictions of modern life, Maxim uses mixed media to capture fleeting moments of truth. Messenger stands as a reminder: love remains a revolutionary act, especially when it’s offered without apology in a world that often forgets its value.
