Simon Kenny’s The Sea of Forever (39" x 39") is a luminous display of lyrical abstraction, where fluid, atmospheric colours blend seamlessly to evoke the vastness of the ocean and the depth of emotion. Swirling blues, warm earthy tones, and delicate bursts of light create a dreamlike sense of movement, inviting personal interpretation.
Described as a radical Turner, Simon is known for his colour burst paintings, which capture the intangible essence of a moment rather than a specific location. His art encourages a deeply personal connection, sparking memories and emotions unique to each viewer.
Born in Dublin in 1976, Simon developed his artistic instinct early, mastering techniques involving brushwork, palette knife textures, and layered colour application. His emotionally charged abstracts are collected globally, with a strong following in the USA. He has exhibited at prestigious galleries, including the Saatchi Gallery.
Simon describes his process as deeply intuitive, saying, “I do become incredibly emotionally connected to my work, almost treating it as though it’s a living thing. My mood influences the colours I choose, the way I use my brushes, and the direction of each piece”.
